Who we are

QuickRoom (quickroom.org) is a browser-based temporary chat product for adults (18+). This policy explains what we process when you create or join a room, read our articles, or see ads on content pages.

What QuickRoom processes

We do not ask for your name, email, or phone number to use a room. You choose a nickname. The browser signs in with Firebase Anonymous Authentication, which creates a random identifier for that browser session.

Room contents (messages, uploaded images, nicknames, room settings, and expiry) are stored so the room can function until it expires. After expiry, rooms and their images are removed according to the product lifecycle.

Cloudflare sits in front of the site and API. Cloudflare sees IP addresses, user-agent, and country as part of operating the network. We use the country code Cloudflare already derives to count pageviews by country. We do not store your IP address in our analytics counters.

Analytics

First-party analytics record the page path, an approximate date, and country (for example US, FR, AU). These counters exist so we can see whether content reaches the United States, Europe, Australia, and Canada. They are aggregate counts, not profiles.

If Cloudflare Web Analytics is enabled, Cloudflare provides cookieless traffic reports, including country, in the Cloudflare dashboard.

If Google Analytics is enabled, it only runs after you allow analytics cookies (required in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland).

Advertising (content pages only)

Display ads (Google AdSense) may appear on the landing page and on long articles and use-case pages. They are not placed inside live chat rooms.

Labelled Monetag direct-link units (728×90 at the top, 160×600 at the sides, and 320×50 at the bottom) may appear on public pages and to the right of a chat window. They open in a new tab and do not wrap Create room, Join, or public-room buttons. We do not load Monetag vignette, in-page push, OnClick, or pop-under tags, because those overlay the page or intercept clicks.

In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, advertising cookies and personalized ads are off until you accept them in the consent message. We use Google Consent Mode where Google tags are present. After AdSense approval, Google’s certified Privacy & messaging / Funding Choices message should also be turned on in the AdSense dashboard—that is the IAB TCF 2.2 CMP Google requires for publishers.

In the United States, you can use Privacy choices to opt out of the sale/sharing of personal information for advertising. We also honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal where present.

Google, Monetag, and their advertising partners may process data as described in their advertising privacy documentation. We do not control their full vendor list; the consent tools show partners when they are active.

Legal bases (GDPR / UK GDPR)

Operating rooms, security, fraud prevention, and aggregate server-side country counts: legitimate interests in providing and understanding the service.

Non-essential advertising and Google Analytics cookies in the EEA/UK/Switzerland: consent.

You may withdraw consent from the banner, Privacy choices, or by clearing site data. You may contact us to ask about access or deletion of account-linked data. Anonymous Firebase IDs are not a customer account with a name or email attached.

Retention

Chat rooms and images last until the expiry you chose (from one hour to three months), then they are cleaned up.

Country pageview counters are kept as daily aggregates for product reporting.

Consent choices are stored in your browser (localStorage) until you change them or clear the site.

Children

QuickRoom is 18+ only. We do not direct the product at children, including K–12 school classes.

Changes

We may update this policy as the product or advertising setup changes. The date on this page will change when we do.
