Interview Panel Chat Without Opening a Slack Workspace

A hiring panel often needs a quiet backchannel for timing, “we’re running long,” and who asks the next question. Opening a Slack workspace—or adding guests to the company Slack—is more process than the hour requires.
Coordinate a live interview panel in the US or UK without a new Slack workspace or guest accounts. Short-lived private room for authorised interviewers.
Use it for coordination, not the official file
Scorecards, equal-opportunity records, and candidate PII belong in the ATS (Greenhouse, Lever, Workday, Beamery). QuickRoom is only for authorised panelists during the session.
Name the room after the interview slot, not the candidate’s full identity. Set expiry to the end of the interview day.
Suggested run-of-show
- Create an Interview room 15 minutes before the panel.
- Private or Invite Only. Share the code in the calendar invite or a 1:1 message—not in a public Slack channel.
- Use the group room for time checks; optional one-to-one chat for a narrow question if you enabled it.
- After the session, copy any decision that must persist into the ATS, then let the room expire.
US and UK hiring context
In the US, mixed-company panels (agency + hiring manager + skip-level) often cannot all join the same Slack. A browser link is the lowest common denominator.
In the UK, the same pattern shows up with external chairs and community interviewers. Do not put special-category data or right-to-work documents in the room.
How to start

- Share the room code (or link/QR) with the people who need to join.
- Talk in the browser, share images if useful, then let the room expire when the moment is over.
Privacy and access
a QuickRoom temporary chat on QuickRoom is designed for short-lived coordination. Participants join with a room code and a nickname—no email address, phone number, or app install is required.
Treat the room code like an invitation. Share it only with the people who should be in the conversation, especially for Private or Invite Only rooms.
When the expiry you chose is reached, the room and its messages and images are cleaned up according to QuickRoom’s temporary-room lifecycle. That keeps the conversation from becoming another permanent group you never meant to keep.

Is a room code public?
Anyone who has the code can attempt to join. Share codes directly with the intended group and avoid posting them on public pages when the conversation should stay private.
